Our attendance policy is changing in line with Government recommendations.
All of the headteachers in the Carlton area have met and agreed to follow the same procedures.
These have also been approved by our governing body.
Taking children out of school for holiday purposes is disruptive to their education and also to the class as a whole and should only happen in exceptional circumstances.
The Headteacher has the discretion whether or not to approve such additional vacation time and from now on will only authorise absence she considers to be for exceptional circumstances.
Absence for non-exceptional reasons will in future be classed as unauthorised.
