School Council

The school council represents one aspect of pupil voice in our school. Our team of ten councillors is made up of two children from each class, who have been elected by their peers to represent them.

At our half-termly meetings, school councillors discuss issues that affect our school community and come up with ideas on how to improve the life of our school. They are responsible for listening to and sharing ideas from co-councillors and their classmates and agreeing on and implementing courses of action.

This year our focus is on improving our school environment and the environment around us. We hope to tackle issues of littering and recycling and raise funds for new resources and equipment to use in our new outdoor classroom.

So far this year, the school council has:

Organised a reverse Advent calendar, collecting supplies for the local food bank

Delivered an assembly on litter and recycling

Organised new recycling boxes for each classroom

Launched 'The Big Battery Hunt' campaign to help recycle more batteries
