Here are some number cards and numicon tiles to cut out, order and match (f you do not have a printer, you could write the numbers on pieces of paper). A grown-up could muddle them up or remove one and you have to work out what is missing or in the wrong place. You can also use them to explore 1 more and 1 fewer than. Which are odd numbers and which are even?
Extra challenge: See if you can use the numicon tiles to represent numbers above 20. Think about how many lots of ten and how many ones you need. Can you write the numbers to match? Try picking 4 random numbers and placing them in order from the smallest to the largest. How did you know which order to put them in? I wonder whether you can think of any numbers which could go in between the numbers you have ordered. Have fun
